U.S. Route 50 (US-50) is a major east–west route of the U.S. Highway system, stretching just over 3,000 miles (4,800 km) from Interstate 80 (I-80) in West Sacramento, California, to Maryland Route 528 (MD 528) in Ocean City, Maryland, on the Atlantic Ocean.
I‑10 in Arizona was laid out by the Arizona Highway Department in 1956–1958 roughly paralleling several historic routes across the state. Particularly east of Eloy, it follows the Butterfield Stage and Pony Express routes, and loops south to avoid the north–south Basin and Range mountains prevalent in the state.

State Route 347 (SR 347) is a 28.69 miles (46.17 km) long, north–south state highway in central Arizona. The route begins at SR 84 and heads north. It passes through Maricopa, meeting SR 238. The route ends at an interchange with Interstate 10 (I-10) south of Chandler.
The highway was designated in 1936, but constructed in the 1940s, and originally covered the route from Sierra Vista to US 80 near Bisbee. In 1961, the road was extended north, overtaking State Route 92 's path to Whetstone and continuing north to Benson, providing easier access to Sierra Vista and Fort Huachuca from the north.
