Pace is the suburban bus and regional paratransit division of the Regional Transportation Authority serving the Chicago metropolitan area. It was created in 1983 by the RTA Act, which established the formula that provides funding to the CTA , Metra , and Pace.
They include adding “transit ambassadors” to boost safety, and moving to a one fare system across all types of public transit, rather than the current, separate fares for the CTA, Metra and Pace.

On June 9, 1940, service in Indiana was converted to buses and removed. That same day, it was rerouted in Illinois, replacing the streetcar portion of Route 32, and the route was renamed 30 South Chicago-Ewing. Route was converted to buses on June 30, 1947, and 30 South Chicago-Ewing merged with 25 Hegewisch to form the 30 South Chicago in 1952.
