Meteor Garden (Chinese: 流星花園; pinyin: Liúxīng Huāyuán) is a 2001 Taiwanese drama starring Barbie Hsu, Jerry Yan, Vic Chou, Ken Chu, and Vanness Wu. It is the first live-action television adaptation of the Japanese manga series Boys Over Flowers ( 花より男子 , Hana Yori Dango ) by Yoko Kamio .
Chou rose to fame for his role as Hua Ze Lei in the highly popular Taiwan television series Meteor Garden. [4] At the conclusion of the series, Chou along with the other cast members of Meteor Garden; Jerry Yan, Vanness Wu and Ken Chu continued to perform together and released three studio albums as the quartet boy band F4.
The series was broadcast in Taiwan on free-to-air Chinese Television System (CTS) (華視) from 11 November to 25 December 2002. [2] The prequel Meteor Garden was broadcast from 12 April to 16 August 2001 and a supplementary mini-series, Meteor Rain , was produced in 2001 and broadcast following the main series.
