Sealdah (also known as DTDC Sealdah Metro for sponsorship reasons) is an important underground metro station on the East-West corridor of the Green Line of Kolkata Metro, located in Sealdah, Kolkata. The underground station adjoins with the Sealdah railway station of the Indian Railways on its eastern side.
Tunneling between Esplanade and Sealdah was completed on 9 October 2020 and between Sealdah and Bowbazar shaft completed on 15 May 2021. [22] [26] Retrieval of the TBMs and covering of the shaft were ongoing. As of March 2024, the gap between Esplanade and Sealdah stations is the only remaining unopened section. [27] [28] [29]
The master plan of the metro corridor was made in 1971 along with the North–South Corridor, connecting the office district of Bidhannagar with the twin city and transportation hub Howrah via another transport hub of the city, Sealdah, and the central business district Esplanade by an underwater metro line.

Sealdah South section consists of a set of four lines which connect Sealdah in Kolkata with its southern suburbs and with the entire South 24 Parganas district of West Bengal, India.
