Hallmark Cards, Inc. is a privately held, family-owned American company based in Kansas City, Missouri.Founded in 1910 by Joyce Hall, Hallmark is one of the oldest and largest manufacturers of greeting cards in the United States. [3]
In 1928, he began marketing his cards under the Hallmark brand name. [ 2 ] [ 5 ] Hall, who objected to the name Joyce and typically went by "J.C.", retired in 1966 and spent his retirement in efforts to revitalize the Kansas City downtown area.
