The Blacklist is an American crime drama television series created by Jon Bokenkamp that premiered on NBC on September 23, 2013. The series, starring James Spader, Megan Boone, Diego Klattenhoff, Ryan Eggold, Hisham Tawfiq, and Harry Lennix, follows Raymond "Red" Reddington (James Spader), one of the FBI's most wanted fugitives, surrenders at J. Edgar Hoover Building in Washington, D.C.

Red alerts Elizabeth about a location and time where an unknown terrorist action will occur. Following a train derailment at the site, which Red believes to be the work of an assassin known as "The Freelancer", a brutally merciless assassin who frequently attacked entire buildings or significant modes of transportation like airplanes, trains, or ships, disguising his killings as accidents.
