The Strangers is a 2008 American psychological horror film [4] written and directed by Bryan Bertino.The film follows a couple (portrayed by Liv Tyler and Scott Speedman) whose stay at a vacation home is disrupted by three masked intruders (portrayed by Kip Weeks, Gemma Ward, and Laura Margolis) who infiltrate the home one night.
After attending their friend's wedding reception, James Hoyt and Kristen McKay, a young couple whose relationship is in trouble, stop at Hoyt's secluded summer home for the night. In the midnight hours as the couple discusses their future and are attempting to sort out their differences, a knock comes at the door.
After Hoyt married Tim, the couple would go on to have seven children (five biological; one permanently adopted; and one temporarily adopted).
