Constancio Bernardo (December 22, 1913 – August 8, 2003) was a Filipino painter and professor. [ 1 ] [ 2 ] He is known for making the earliest modern geometric abstract paintings in the Philippines and in Southeast Asia.

Caedo's career as a sculptor began in the year 1925 when he worked with Guillermo E. Tolentino's atelier as student-assistant and protégé. He assisted Tolentino in creating most of his landmark commissions like: the UP Oblation; the Bonifacio Monument in Caloocan; the Rizal Monument in front of the Rizal Provincial Capitol; and the Shaw Monument at Shaw Boulevard in Mandaluyong to name a few.

Librada Avelino (January 17, 1873 – November 9, 1934) was a Filipina educator who co-founded the Centro Escolar University.She was the first woman to earn a teaching certificate from the Spanish authorities when she passed her examination in 1889.
