The Boscov's store at Dover Mall was the first Boscov's location outside Pennsylvania. [6] The mall was renovated in 1992. JCPenney became the mall's fourth department store when it opened in August 1993, relocating from the Blue Hen Mall. The mall officially opened in October 1980, with Boscov's and JCPenney serving as anchors. [2] The mall was constructed at the former location of the Reading Fairgrounds Speedway; the Boscov's store opened as a freestanding store adjacent to the speedway in August 1965.
