Son Gohan (Japanese: 孫 悟飯) is a fictional character in the Japanese franchise Dragon Ball created by Akira Toriyama.Gohan is the first son of the protagonist Son Goku and his wife Chi-Chi and made his appearance in chapter #196 "Kakarrot", published in Weekly Shōnen Jump magazine on October 8, 1988.
However, Goku's tail eventually rips off, just in the nick of time to avoid the final blow. Completely free from his weak point, but enraged at Gohan for pulling off his tail, Goku is about fight back. But Gohan surrenders and reveals his face to Goku. Bulma retells her adventures with Goku. Gohan chooses to stay dead and vanishes after a farewell.
Grandpa Son Gohan (孫 悟飯 じいちゃん, Son Gohan Jīsan; FUNimation "Grandpa Gohan", Viz "Son Gohan"), is the adoptive grandfather of Son Goku, whom he found in a crashed spaceship. [ ch. 197 ] Having originally studied under Master Roshi and learned the Kamehameha technique from him, he adopts Goku and teaches him martial arts.
Seven years have passed since the Cell Games and Goku's death, and now Gohan is a teenager. Chi-Chi decides to send him to high school for the first time, in far-off Satan City. While there, he meets Hercule's daughter, Videl. During the course of the day, he tries to hide his true strength, but he lets it slip a few times.
The Androids are still driving a van to Goku's house. Goku is being taken to another place to be safe from the androids. He is ill and sees nightmares of the androids killing Gohan, Krillin, Chi-Chi and Future Trunks. Meanwhile, Vegeta thinks about how Android 18 nearly killed him as her taunting words ring through his mind.
While fighting Gohan, Ginyu appears to have the upper hand until Gohan transforms into a Super Saiyan and defeats him. When Gohan shows mercy to Ginyu, Frieza becomes enraged and explains that Gohan showing mercy on Ginyu reminds him of how he himself was spared by Goku and fires multiple Death Beams at Gohan.
Bulma begins preparing the spaceship for Goku's journey. Gohan decides to go, as well, because he can help Goku find the Black Star Dragon Balls. Pan is very disappointed that she cannot go because she's too young. Everyone (except for her grandfather, Hercule) has been treating her like a child lately, and she is getting frustrated.
Goku says goodbye to everyone, including Chi-Chi and Goten at the lookout and tells them that he will find Gohan in Other World, but Videl insists that Gohan is still alive somewhere. Once again, he is gone, leaving Piccolo in charge of training Goten and Trunks.
