Copeville is on Texas State Highway 78 near the eastern shore of Lavon Lake, 8 mi (13 km) southwest of Farmersville, 21 mi (34 km) southeast of McKinney, and 35 mi (56 km) northeast of Dallas in southeastern Collin County. [3] It is also on Farm to Market Road 1778 on the Collin County Outer Loop.

Knoebels is located in a small wooded valley in central Pennsylvania. In 1828, a local man by the name of Henry Knoebel purchased the land for $931 (equivalent to $26,638 in 2024). The valley, originally known as "Peggy's Farm", was used as farming land until the early 1900s, when a creek-fed swimming hole was introduced.
