Processor read/write scratch memory (called CALL STORE) was implemented using a magnetic core variant called Ferrite Sheet. Program and Data Store (used to store Software and infrequently changed data) was implemented using a technology called piggy back twistor - in modern parlance a write once, read many times non-volatile memory system).
In telephony, line hunting (or hunt group) is the method of distributing phone calls from a single telephone number to a group of several phone lines. Specifically, it refers to the process or algorithm used to select which line will receive the call. Hunt groups are supported by some PBX phone systems.
Call forwarding, or call diversion, is a telephony feature of all telephone switching systems which redirects a telephone call to another destination, which may be, for example, a mobile or another telephone number where the desired called party is available. Call forwarding was invented by Ernest J. Bonanno.
Remote call forwarding is also a means for a suburban business to obtain a city-centre local number (with its full large-city coverage area) for inbound calls; while cheaper than a foreign exchange line, this can reduce long-distance telephony costs in markets where local calls are flat-rated but trunk calls are expensive.
Each time a call is placed for routing, the destination number (also known as the called party) is entered by the calling party into their terminal. The destination number generally has two parts, an area code which generally identifies the geographical location of the destination telephone, and a telephone number unique within that area code that determines the specific destination terminal.
When the MSC gets the call, it checks its database for the location of the phone. Then it picks a frequency pair the phone will use in that cell to take the call. The MSC communicates with the phone over the control channel to tell it which frequencies to use, and once the phone and the tower switch on those frequencies, the call is connected.

Cell sites frequency reuse pattern in Cellular telephone network . See U.S. patent 4,144,411. Network routing in a cellular network deals with the challenges of traditional telephony such as switching and call setup. [1] Most cellular network routing issues in different cells can be attributed to the multiple access methods used for transmission.
