The Norton Model 7 Dominator was a 500 cc vertical twin motorcycle manufactured by the Norton Motorcycle Company from 1949 to 1955. It was the first of Norton's Dominator range of motorcycles. The engine was designed by Bert Hopwood and was a departure from Norton's previous practice of producing single-cylinder machines.
Rocker box mounting studs were increased in size. A thrust washer was placed between the clutch chain-wheel and its mounting to reduce wear problems. A redesigned clutch hub allowed an extra plate to be fitted. The rear engine mounting lug was increased to 75 mm for consistency with the 500 engine. [13]

The Shovelhead engine is a motorcycle engine that was produced by Harley-Davidson from 1966 to 1984, built as a successor to the previous Panhead engine. When the engine was first produced, the Shovelhead had a shallower combustion chamber, larger valve drop for both intake and exhaust, better porting, and stronger valves and pistons.
The motorcycle is powered by a newly developed air and oil-cooled 1,802 cc (110.0 cu in), 91 hp (68 kW) two-cylinder boxer. It is the largest two-cylinder boxer engine for motorcycles built by BMW so far. The valves of the four-stroke engine are controlled by tappets, push rods above the cylinders and rocker arms.
