Shine On, Harvest Moon [2] is a 1944 musical–biographical film about the vaudeville team of Nora Bayes and Jack Norworth, who wrote the popular song "Shine On, Harvest Moon." The film was directed by David Butler and stars Ann Sheridan and Dennis Morgan [ 2 ] Sheridan's singing voice was dubbed by Lynn Martin.
They performed together, and were credited with co-writing the hit song "Shine On, Harvest Moon", included in the Ziegfeld Follies of 1908, along with several other songs in the show. [3] Bayes was the star performer, commanding a much higher salary than Norworth, and sometimes challenging the authority of theatre managers and promoters.
Stamper claimed [7] to have written "Shine On, Harvest Moon", while the writers of record were his former employers Nora Bayes and Jack Norworth.
