The 2024 TCR Australia Series (known for sponsorship reasons as the 2024 Supercheap Auto TCR Australia Series) was the fifth season of the TCR Australia Touring Car Series. The series ras as part of the Australian Racing Group 's SpeedSeries .
It has run annually since 2020 as part of the SpeedSeries, a series of circuit racing events run by ARG, also featuring the TCR Australia Touring Car Series and other support categories. It is televised and live-streamed on the Seven Network and its associated streaming service.
The TCR Touring Car formula, introduced in 2014, is based on four or five door front-wheel drive production vehicles powered by 2.0 litre turbocharged engines. Since then, several global and regional TCR championships have been established and TCR regulations have been adopted in several series, including the World Touring Car Cup from 2018 onwards. [2]
The 2023 TCR Australia Series (known for sponsorship reasons as the 2023 Supercheap Auto TCR Australia Series) was the fourth season of the TCR Australia Touring Car Series. The series ran as part of SpeedSeries and featured two rounds as part of TCR World Tour. The series was won by Josh Buchan in a Hyundai Elantra N TCR.
The 2024 Kumho FIA TCR World Tour was the second season of the TCR World Tour, an international touring car racing series for TCR cars. Effectively succeeding the WTCR series, it was the tenth season of international TCR competition dating back to the 2015 TCR International Series . [ 1 ]
Buchan signed to race in the TCR Australia Touring Car Series in 2021, driving for HMO Customer Racing. [3] Buchan finished seventh in the championship in his first season. In 2022, he finished third in the championship standings, and in 2023, he won the championship over his teammate Bailey Sweeney.
