When I drywall for remodels I do a lot of skim coating. 10 4x8 sheets would probably take about 3 buckets. But that's when I'm trying to blend in old walls with new, fix defects etc. If you're doing new construction it's not as messy, 1 gallon per 10 sheets sounds about right. Reply Like.

How many sheets per day would you expect a two man crews to be able to get done. Single family - 8 foot ceilings, 1/2" drywall. Time was spent to order correct size rock ie (2) 12' peices for an 11.5' wall so there isnt a lot of peicing. Have a drywall lift on site, senco colated screw guns and the standard dewalt drywall guns.
Made $900 in a weekend at $.12 per sq ft. The tapers took a little longer. 2 men 1 day to tape, 1 man day for each of 2 top coats, 1 man day to texture, 1/2 to scrape and clean up. total 5-1/2 man days, $1,200. Generally, at $.26 per square foot they get about $200 per man per day.

Here a 4x8 sheet of drywall is $8.00 + and the mud is $6.00/25 pounds for powder and $10 per 5 gal. Screws are almost $3 a pound. When I think of how much labor it would take me to drywall a garage let's say, and the number of return trips etc, I can't even begin to think of charging .75/sf.
If it is a price per room on a long contract, maybe 250 for just the drywall work, not the paint. If it is a single job, I expect two days, one to mud and one to paint. This covers showing up, set up, masking/protection and clean up. I get $300 per day for me, plus materials, so $700.00 minimum.
You should be fine with the frozen mud if you mix it up good with a drill and a mixing paddle. You might be suprised how long it takes for the ice crystals in the middle of the pail to finally thaw. You may also be able to tell some differences in the perfomance of the mud, in regard to being harder getting a smooth finish with your drywall ...
I should clarify. 1.25$ is supply and install for residential. Included are board, tape, mud and corners. We add a bit if there is a high ceiling over 9'. 0.30$ per foot to board only, and the same to tape and finish to a level 4. Mud and tape is 0.1$ per foot, corner bead is 0.243$ per lf. Sand paper also about 0.1.
