The city lies on the Bologna–Ancona railway and offers hourly connections to Rimini. Between 1916 and 1960, the village of Sant'Ermete, on the opposite site of the Marecchia, was served by the Rimini–Novafeltria railway. [8] [9] Following its closure, much of the railway was incorporated into the SP258 provincial road.

San Clemente (Romagnol: San Climènt) is a comune (municipality) in the Province of Rimini, but before 1992 in the Province of Forlì, in the Italian region Emilia-Romagna, located about 120 kilometres (75 mi) southeast of Bologna, about 65 kilometres (40 mi) southeast of Forlì and about 11 kilometres (7 mi) south of Rimini.
The arch was built in 27 BC, commissioned by the Roman Senate in honour of Augustus, who had become the first Roman emperor in the same year. It was built at the northern end of the Via Flaminia, [2] [3] a Roman road between Ariminum (modern Rimini) and Rome constructed in 220 BC by Gaius Flaminius, [3] [4] and at the start of Ariminum 's decumanus maximus (Corso d'Augusto).
