Perimeter Mall was the first mall in metro Atlanta to be located outside of I-285. In 1977, the first Great American Cookie Company store opened at the mall. [3] In 1982, an additional wing that included a Davison's was added. This gave the mall a T shape. Davison's became Macy's in 1986.
The Cumberland Mall, Lenox Square, Northlake Mall, and Town Center Macy's remain open as of 2022. When the Cobb Center Mall store closed in 2004, the furniture clearance center was relocated to Town Center.
