Burnsville (/ ˈ b ɜːr n z v ɪ l / BURNZ-vil) is a city 15 miles (24 km) south of downtown Minneapolis in Dakota County, Minnesota. The city is situated on a bluff overlooking the south bank of the Minnesota River , upstream from its confluence with the Mississippi River .
In 1996 the city of Stillwater entered into an agreement with Stillwater Township to annex land. In 2015 the Stillwater city council approved the annexing the last of the land covered by the agreement. The city's western border is now Manning Avenue (County Road 15). The northern border is now mostly, but not entirely, Minnesota Highway 96. [23]
According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 3.03 square miles (7.85 km 2); 2.98 square miles (7.72 km 2) is land and 0.05 square miles (0.13 km 2) is water. [8] Oak Park Heights is located adjacent to the city of Stillwater. Minnesota State Highways 5, 36 and 95 are three of the main routes in the community.
The station is located at the corner of Minnesota State Highway 13 in the downtown of Burnsville, Minnesota. The station is located between Minnesota Valley Transit Authority's (MVTA) Burnsville Transit Station and Heart of the City Park and Ride, providing bus connections and park and ride capacity.
