The L5P Duramax is the latest version of the Duramax V8 diesel engine.(engine code Y). Introduced in the 2017 model year, it was the most powerful diesel engine GM had produced, with 445 hp (332 kW) at 2,800 rpm and 910 lb⋅ft (1,234 N⋅m) at 1,600 rpm.
1.5 L (1,493 cc or 91.1 cu in) I3, with a single overhead camshaft, four valves-per-cylinder, and common-rail direct fuel injection. This engine was designed in 1998 with the related 4-cylinder variant R 420 SOHC. In 1999, VM granted Hyundai the license to manufacture both engines.
The Duramax I4 engine is a family of turbocharged diesel I4 engines sold by General Motors in 2.5 and 2.8 liter sizes as an option for the Chevrolet Colorado, GMC Canyon, Chevrolet Express, and GMC Savana in southeast Asia and Oceania (Australia / New Zealand) from 2012, and in North America from 2016 through 2022.
Common rail fuel system on a Volvo truck engine. In 1916 Vickers pioneered the use of mechanical common rail systems in G-class submarine engines. For every 90° of rotation, four plunger pumps allowed a constant injection pressure of 3,000 pounds per square inch (210 bar; 21 MPa), with fuel delivery to individual cylinders being shut off by valves in the injector lines. [1]
fully demand-controlled and returnless; – fuel tank–mounted low-pressure fuel pump; Fuel Stratified Injection (FSI): camshaft-driven single-piston high-pressure injection pump supplying up to 150 bar (2,180 psi) fuel pressure in common rail fuel rail integrated into the inlet manifold, four combustion chamber sited direct injection ...
The Isuzu 6H is a family of inline six-cylinder diesel engines installed in Isuzu medium-duty trucks, and also installed in GM medium-duty trucks as the Duramax LG4. It is mated to the Allison 2500, 3000, and 3500 series transmissions.
The engine's timing components are located at the rear of the engine, and feature timing chains to drive the camshafts and high pressure fuel pump, and a wet belt to drive the oil pump. [1] Most of the development and engineering work for the LM2 Duramax, as well as primary calibration took place in Turin, Italy.
Cleveland Diesel was dissolved in 1962 and their remaining production moved to EMD. In 1988, the Detroit Diesel Engine Division was incorporated as an independent company, later acquired by DaimlerChrysler in 2005. EMD was sold off by GM in 2005 and is now a subsidiary of Progress Rail.
