As a Whataburger employee I can confirm. No. 2 with cheese. Perfect meat to bun/topping proportions, and gotta have cheese on a burger. The LTOs are better in some ways but they can get old if you eat them too much, a #2 is a good all-around. That’s what I’ve been saying about the #2.

Bacon Steakhouse Double first impressions. 7.5/10. I’d say it’s their best LTO in the last 2 years, which isn’t saying much when you think about what they’ve trotted out (Southern Bacon Double, Blue Cheese Burger). TLDR; Whataburger really just has more variety, but if you're going to compare a Double Double with Whataburger's equivalent, In-N-Out wins. If its menu vs menu, Whataburger wins. Both have cult like followers, both are regional chains, both offer high quality fast food. But, I'd go with Whataburger.
They’re opening a Whataburger on The Strip in Vegas. It’s making it’s way to the coast. They have plans to open 100 Whataburger's in Socal. I heard they just bought Sonic, there are many of those in CA, maybe they will turn some of them into Whataburger. Once or twice a year is better than about 5 times in 7 years.
