As of the 2020 United States census, the township's population was 8,637, [ 9 ][ 10 ] an increase of 588 (+7.3%) from the 2010 census count of 8,049, [ 19 ][ 20 ] which in turn reflected an increase of 365 (+4.8%) from the 7,684 counted in the 2000 census.
Salem County is the westernmost county in the U.S. state of New Jersey.
