Hello Wookmouse, Thanks for that info and choosing the Apple Support Communities. If I understand correctly, you are unable to sign into your Apple ID with your new password in iTunes on your Windows computer, but you don't have this issue with your iOS devices.

Try holding down option+cmd as you launch iTunes to open it in its safe mode and see if that makes a difference. If you still get the repeated sign in prompt try taking your computer offline. If that doesn't help reinstall iTunes. tt2.

Hello trudy999 and welcome to Apple Support Communities. It appears you are having some difficulty with repeated requests that you sign in to the iTunes Store since updating. Try this: System Preferences > Apple ID > Media & Purchases > Account > Manage. Sign out, reboot the Mac and then sign back in in the same place.
However, I now need to sign in to itunes to access music i bought using my old account with my old apple ID. I know this ID and the password but cannot verify the account since the phone and corresponding phone number is lost. Is there any way to update the old account's phone number to my new one or somehow connect the two accounts?
