Paul Callistus Sereno (born October 11, 1957) is a professor of paleontology at the University of Chicago who has discovered several new dinosaur species on several continents, including at sites in Inner Mongolia, Argentina, Morocco and Niger. [1]

It was discovered in 2000 on an expedition led by University of Chicago paleontologist Paul Sereno. The type and only species is Eocarcharia dinops . [ 1 ] Its teeth were shaped like blades and were used for disabling live prey and ripping apart body parts.
The family Spinosauridae was named by Stromer in 1915 to include the single genus Spinosaurus. The clade was expanded as more close relatives of Spinosaurus were uncovered. The first cladistic definition of Spinosauridae was provided by Paul Sereno in 1998 (as "All spinosauroids closer to Spinosaurus than to Torvosaurus"). [10]

[9] However, Grillo & Delcourt (2016) gave a lower estimate of 4.4 metres (14 ft) long while Molina-Pérez & Larramendi (2016) gave an estimate of 5.3 metres (17 ft) long and 410 kilograms (900 lb) in weight.
