Brian Finnegan (born 20 August 1969) is an Irish flute and tin whistle player from Armagh. Finnegan began playing whistle at age 8 and flute at age 10 as a student of the Armagh Pipers Club [1] under the tuition of the Vallely family. He first came to public attention with the Irish group Upstairs in a Tent. [2]
He began playing tin whistle at age 12 and went on to flute in his early teens inspired by local musicians and the early recordings of Irish music made in America. He received further inspiration from local flute players such as Noel Lenaghan, Michael Clarkson, Sam Murray and Brendan O'Hare.

Seamus Tansey, also spelled Séamus Tansey, was an Irish flute player born in Gorteen, County Sligo, Ireland in 1943. He won the All-Ireland flute title in 1965. Seamus Tansey died on July 9, 2022.
