2025–26 → The 2024–25 Sunshine Tour will be the 54th season of the Sunshine Tour (formerly the Southern Africa Tour ), the main professional golf tour in South Africa since it was formed in 1971.
The Sunshine Tour is a men's professional golf tour based in Southern and East Africa. For much of its early history it was known either as the Southern Africa Tour or Sunshine Circuit ; through sponsorship deals, it has also been known as the FNB Tour [ 1 ] and the Vodacom Tour . [ 2 ]
The "World Tour" concept seems to have been dropped, but the four events usually attract almost all of the elite players who are eligible to compete and they rank among the most prestigious and high-profile events outside of the majors. The prize money on offer is very close to being the highest for any professional golf tournament.
The full 2023–24 schedule was announced in May 2023 and was originally intended to have 32 tournaments, and include co-sanctioned tournaments with the European Tour and Challenge Tour. [1] Notably, the Zanaco Masters returned to the schedule, having not been played on the Sunshine Tour since 2019.

Qualifying was first introduced from 1907, except 1910–1911, where a 36 hole cut was made instead. 1926 was the first year where there was both a cut and qualifying, and this has been the situation ever since. Qualifying generally happened the day before or shortly before the Open, and everyone was required to qualify until 1962.
