Deborah Mary Peterson (born on August 22, 1961) is an American musician and the drummer of the band The Bangles. [1] She sang lead vocals on two of the band's released singles, " Going Down to Liverpool " (1984) and " Be with You " (1989).
Formed by Susanna Hoffs and sisters Vicki Peterson and Debbi Peterson, the group began as part of the Paisley Underground scene, a Los Angeles music movement heavily influenced by 1960s rock and psychedelic music. Their early work blended jangly guitar melodies with power-pop sensibilities.

When the Bangles broke up in 1989, Debbi Peterson formed Smashbox with Gina Schock (of the Go-Go's), Sara Lee (of the B-52's) and Wendy & Lisa.By 1991, the group was reduced to Peterson and Schock, who signed with I.R.S. Records and renamed themselves Kindred Spirit.
