In 2017 the rugby union club Newport RFC sold Rodney Parade to the Welsh Rugby Union and subsequently in 2021 Newport RFC relocated to Newport Stadium. In 2023 a private consortium purchased Rodney Parade and the Dragons regional rugby union team from the WRU. Newport Squash Rackets Club [5] has four squash courts at Rodney Parade.
