Rear Window is a 1954 American mystery thriller film directed by Alfred Hitchcock and written by John Michael Hayes based on Cornell Woolrich's 1942 short story It Had to Be Murder. Georgine Darcy (January 14, 1933 – July 18, 2004) [1] was an American dancer and actress best known for her role as "Miss Torso" in the 1954 Alfred Hitchcock film Rear Window. She also had a regular role in the 1960-61 sitcom Harrigan and Son. Born in Brooklyn, Darcy's mother reportedly urged her to become a stripper, to make a "fast buck". [2]
