Pinehurst, known formally as The Village of Pinehurst, is a village in Moore County, North Carolina, United States. [8] As of the 2020 census , the village population was 17,581. [ 9 ] Pinehurst refers to both the village, and the Pinehurst Resort , a Golf resort, which has hosted multiple United States Open Championships in the sport.
Since the early 21st century, Moore County comprises the Pinehurst-Southern Pines, NC Metropolitan Statistical Area. Moore County is a part of the Fayetteville-Lumberton-Pinehurst, NC Combined Statistical Area, which had an estimated population of 693,299 in 2023, making it the 75th-largest CSA in the United States. Seven Lakes is a census-designated place (CDP) in Moore County, North Carolina, United States. It is located approximately 10–15 minutes from the Pinehurst #2, where four U.S. Opens have been held, in 1999, 2005, 2014, and 2024. In 2018, the population of the Seven Lakes CDP was 4,404.
