McGredy developed the new rose variety, 'Dublin Bay' in 1969 from stock parents, pink climbing rose 'Bantry Bay' (McGredy IV, 1967) and red climbing rose, 'Altissimo' (Delbard, 1966). The new cultivar was introduced into Ireland by his nursery, Samuel McGredy and Son in 1975. [5] [6]

Bantry Bay is an affluent suburb of Cape Town in the Western Cape Province, South Africa, situated on the slopes of Lion's Head and overlooking a rocky coastline. Its neighboring suburbs are Sea Point and Clifton. It was originally called Botany Bay after a botanical garden that was planted here for the cultivation of medicinal herbs.
Bantry Bay is a ria, a bay formed from a drowned river valley as a result of a relative rise in sea level.The bay is a deep (approx 40 metres in the middle) and large natural bay, with one of the longest inlets in southwest Ireland, bordered on the north by Beara Peninsula, which separates Bantry Bay from Kenmare Bay.
Tank Cottage is located within Heritage Hill State Historical Park in Green Bay, Wisconsin. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1970 [ 1 ] and may be the oldest building in Wisconsin.
Rose was born to a Jewish family in Jerusalem [1] one of six siblings. [1] His family immigrated in the 1890s [2] and he then worked as a sales catalog buyer for a clothing store working in the Garment District in New York City [2] when - inspired by an uncle who purchased real estate [3] - he founded Roses Associates with his brother, Samuel B., in 1927.
