All engines for the Reliable Dayton were built at the Dayton & Mashey Automobile Works in Chicago which William Dayton also ran. The original engine was a two-stroke twin-cylinder 15-hp engine later changed to a four-stroke twin engine. [1] [2] The high-wheelers had a rope drive and solid rubber tires, with the engine located under the seat.
Louis Marino (March 14, 1933 – March 7, 2017) was an American mobster and member of the Chicago Outfit criminal organization. Marino oversaw the Outfit's rackets in Lake and McHenry counties north of Chicago. In 1993, he was sentenced to 28 years in prison for racketeering.

William E. "Billy" Dauber (June 30, 1935 – July 2, 1980) was a Chicago mobster, hitman and associate in the Chicago Outfit's South Side chop shop ring.. Born in Chicago and moved to Blue Island, Dauber was brought into the Chicago crime syndicate by mobster James "Jimmy the Bomber" Catuara, who operated illegal gambling and vice in Chicago's Southside.
