Alfa Romeo's variator is a cylindrical chamber that contains a pressure chamber and piston along with helical splines. Engine oil pressure, moves the internal piston which rotates slightly due to the helical splines and advances the inlet valve timing by 25 degrees. Oil flow to the variator is controlled by a solenoid valve.

This engine is part of Audi's modular 90° V6/V8 engine family. It shares its bore and stroke, 90° V-angle, and 90mm cylinder spacing with the Audi V6. The earlier V6 engines (EA837) used an Eaton TVS Supercharger instead of turbocharger(s). In 2016, Audi and Porsche released a new turbocharged V6 engine they dubbed EA839.
In 1978, the Audi 2.0 R5 D engine was introduced in the Audi 100 sedan. In 1983, a turbocharged version was introduced, initially for the U.S. market Audi 100. Several Volvo cars, from March 1996 to 2001, were produced with Audi straight-five diesel engines, prior to the introduction of the Volvo D5 turbo-diesel engine; this engine was produced from 2001 to 2017 and was used in several diesel ...
An indicator chart records the pressure in the cylinder versus the volume swept by the piston, throughout the two or four strokes of the piston which constitute the engine, or compressor, cycle. The indicator diagram is used to calculate the work done and the power produced in an engine cylinder [2] or used in a compressor cylinder.
Other features included low-friction bearings for the camshaft and balancer shafts, piston rings that have less pre-tension, a two-stage oil pump with volumetric flow control. [6] [7] The engine's displacements were 1.4 litres (3 cylinders), 1.6 litres (4 cylinders) and 2.0 litres (4 cylinders), [8] [9] with power output between 66 and 176 kW. [10]
The 2010–12 Audi S5 coupé had a 4.2 litre fuel stratified injection (FSI) V8 engine [4] that produces 260 kW (349 hp), while the S5 Cabriolet and Sportback have a supercharged 3.0 litre TFSI V6 engine producing 245 kW (329 hp) which is shared with the 2010 Audi S4 3.0 TFSI quattro sedan and avant.
The Audi DTM V8 engine family is a series of prototype, four-stroke, 3.6-liter to 4.0-liter, naturally aspirated V-8 racing engines, developed and produced by Audi for the Deutsche Tourenwagen Meisterschaft, between 1990 and 1992; and later the Deutsche Tourenwagen Masters, between 2000 and 2018.
