Adobe's Myriad was Apple's main brand font from 2003 to 2016. Myriad is used in Rolls-Royce's text-based logo. From the launch of the eMac in 2002, Myriad replaced Apple Garamond as Apple Inc.'s corporate font. It was once used in all of Apple's marketing and on its products (See Apple typography), but it has now been replaced by San Francisco.
Font Book is opened by default whenever the user clicks on a new .otf or .ttf font file. The user can view the font and install it, at which point the font will be copied to a centralized folder of user-installed fonts and be available for all apps to use. [1] It can be used to browse all installed fonts.
The use of Adobe Myriad would have been the first example of Apple using the same font in branding and user interface and indeed the high-res advertising mock-ups clearly used the font. However, at the time few noticed that the font on the devices was missing Myriad's trademark features, such as its 'k' and 'K', its splayed 'M' and distinctive 'y'.
