A few days ago I got out to Barth Pond in Downers Grove to do some carp fishing. I set up in the Southeast corner of the pond where a small creek runs in. I imagine the flow of the creek would have carved a small ditch into the lakebed where fish would congregate. Within 15 minutes of fishing I started getting some small taps on my line.
Got out to do some serious fishing for the first time in a couple years. I'm in Palatine now so I read online about Lake Louise in Barrington, it said it was open to the public I went to the Salmon Shop nice place I come to find out it's technically private, however the guy told me if I stay on the bike path I should be okay I thanked him for the info and advice got some lrg fatheads and off I ...
Big rock was the ultimate fish factory when it first opened. I've caught more than a dozen 5 to 6 pound bass and couple of 2-3 pound smallies. over the years the fishing pressure has pushed the bass deeper and deeper. It is not unusual to mark suspended bass at 40 ft.
i've fished diversy for the past 8 years and everyday is different. somedays you'll get the best of luck and other days you waste 5 hours. When they re-did the diversy harbor docks, fishing has changed. And the dropping water levels have seriously put a damper on the fishing. on top of that the gobies have raided every inch of diversy.
Lots of weed growth along the shoreline. If you can fish from one of the two fishing piers on Silver Lake, start there. Was catching Crappie, an occasional Trout and to my surprise a 9 inch Yellow Perch. But a lot of these people are right. The shore fishing can be a little hairy and you are constantly taking weeds off your hook.

When fishing Heidecke we're using our 16 foot grumman v-hull but to fish Dresden.....we're gonna need a bigger boat. "I think I fish, in part, because it's an anti-social, bohemian business that, when gone about properly, puts you forever outside the mainstream culture without actually landing you in an institution."
i go fishing here a lot. i live probably 5 minutes away. i dont have a ton of luck here, its hit or miss it seems with more misses than anything else. ive caught some decent size smallmouth and a couple northern pike. theres always a lot of pressure on this lake, especially a lot of foreign bucket people. i would try mallard lake or busse lake. the best luck ive had has been at busse just ...
