Dhani is a pentatonic raga in Hindustani classical music. [3] It is a sprightly raga often described as Bhimpalasi sans the notes, Dha and Re. It however has its own distinct character. Dhani is frequently heard in popular music. [1] This raga is also known as the romantic version of Raag Malkauns.
The Tamil version initially had five tracks while the Telugu version had a sixth track titled "Akkada Vunnavadu" sung by Geetha Madhuri. This song was not included in the film's Tamil version. [7] [8] Jayaraj completed recording the film's background score on 21 September 2017. [9]
A promotional event to release the music for the film's Telugu version Rakshasudu, was however held on 14 May 2015 at a grand event held at Hyderabad, with Nagarjuna, S. S. Rajamouli and Prabhas attending the event as chief guests. [17] The song "Sema Masss" was neither included in the film nor in the soundtrack album.
The soundtrack rights for both Oopiri and Thozha were acquired by Junglee Music. [5] Oopiri's album was unveiled on 14 February 2016 (Valentine's Day) [6] at the Hitex Convention Centre in Hyderabad, [5] while the soundtrack to Thozha was released on 21 February 2016, [7] at St. Bede's School in Chennai with the presence of the cast and crew among other celebrities.

Lyrics were penned by Madhan Karky, and Mysskin himself. The soundtrack album was released by UTV Music and Saregama on 1 August 2012. The release coincided with a promotional event held at the Sathyam Cinemas, Chennai. The album also was dubbed and released in Telugu as Mask on 15 August 2012, by Aditya Music.
