Trunk 19 is part of the Canadian province of Nova Scotia's system of trunk highways. The road runs from Port Hastings (at the east end of the Canso Causeway) to a junction with the Cabot Trail at Margaree Forks on Cape Breton Island, a distance of 107 kilometres (66 mi). [1] Most of the route is known as the Ceilidh Trail. [2]
It was renumbered as Route 19 in 1965 and Route 190 in 1984. A high-speed connector road between the Trans-Canada Highway and the bridge in Southern Victoria was constructed as part of upgrades to the Trans Canada Highway in 2003. It became part of Route 109, which was extended from across the river, while Route 190 was shortened.
