I went back to the toy store this afternoon to get one of the Black Rain AR-15's. One of the salesmen walked over and picked up a Black Rain in 308 Win. and handed it to me. It has their battleworn grey finish which I could take or leave but that gun felt good and the trigger was excellent for a factory trigger. So, I came home with the 308.
The point I believe Black Rain is making is they have pulled it all together in a package like STI has done with 1911s. Keep in mind this is a gun really going after the 3-gun market which encourage a little fun in their toys.
BRO is a regional product in the sense that it has yet to acquire much of a national rep. The company is located here in the midwest (Missouri) and is not well known outside of this area. BRO is considered top tier in these parts. YMMV of course, but in my experience BRO makes an excellent product.

I had an M16 carrier of theirs that was beautiful. When it came time to buy a BCG for an AR10 build, they were at the top of my list. I'm a dealer for them, but they weren't currently selling ...
Hey folks, so thought I'd throw this up here and get some feedback on my first AR! It's a Black Rain Ordnance Spec15 Socom Plus, enjoying it a lot so far. Recently really got in to firearms as I now live in PA and recently graduated so I can finally dive in. I also currently work at my LGS, so that helps quite a bit! So this is it's current state.

First post here, I recently purchased a NY compliant Black Rain fallout15 si fde with billet lower. I really wanted a BCM recce but this is what my local dealer had so I took my chances and ...
Here's my thoughts... Fit and finish is excellent but you could build the exact rifle for a hell of a lot less than they charge for it. I'm also not a big fan of the rail they use. Also, for that price it should not have a mil spec trigger. You can find their upper and lower receiver sets for around $400-$500.
The port on the BRO barrel was notably bigger despite being carbine length gas vs. the BA mid. That would explain a lot. While waiting on a few items to arrive for the barrel install I decided to contact Black Rain Ordnance to see what they thought. He had me take a pic of the comparison of the two gas ports.
With a bullpup, the LOP is just where they stick the grip. It has no effect on overall weapons length, where the optic sits, distance the rest of the controls are from the shooters hand, etc. Grab an AUG or X95, and 'shorten the LOP' by gripping the magazine like it was the pistol grip.
None. Both are good companies. Black Rain makes about as good of a lower as you can find IMHO. I've got a FALLOUT15 lower and it is better quality than any I have ever seen/held/shot. I especially like that the lower is threaded with a teflon/rubber screw that you can tighten to take out any play that might exist between the upper and lower.
