Medina County (/ m ə ˈ d aɪ n ə / ⓘ) is a county located in the northeastern region in the U.S. state of Ohio. As of the 2020 census, the population was 182,470. The town began celebrating the arrival of the birds in 1957, and today as many as 50,000 visitors visit the Hinckley Reservation of the Cleveland Metroparks in the town annually on "Buzzard Day" to witness the return of the avian residents. The event is used to mark the beginning of spring for Hinckley and the surrounding towns.
