This is a list of lakes and reservoirs in the U.S. state of Illinois. The lakes are ordered by their unique names, (i.e. Lake Smith or Smith Lake would both be listed under "S"). Swimming, fishing, and/or boating are permitted in some of these lakes, but not all.

Pekin Lake State Fish and Wildlife Area is a 1,181-acre area of protected habitat on the Illinois River adjacent to the city of Pekin, Illinois, within Tazewell County in the U.S. state of Illinois. The Illinois Department of Natural Resources (IDNR) describes the protected area as a bottomland of sloughs, lakes, and low timbered ridges. [2]
Fishing came to be one of the top attractions at Bayles Lake due to the high density of fish. Though the lake does not contain sea weed, fish happen to thrive in the waters and grow to tremendous sizes. Fisherman find it convenient not to deal with as many snags and weeds getting caught on their lures.
