The Phenix Horns, [1] originally known as the EWF Horns, were the main horn section for the band Earth, Wind & Fire. The horn section was composed of Don Myrick on saxophone , Louis "Lui Lui" Satterfield on trombone , Rahmlee Michael Davis on trumpet , Michael Harris on trumpet and Harry Kim on trumpet.

Louis Edward Satterfield (April 3, 1937 – September 27, 2004) was an American bassist and trombonist.Satterfield was a member of both The Pharaohs and the Phenix Horns.He also collaborated with prominent artists such as Earth, Wind & Fire, Muddy Waters, Phil Collins, B. B. King, The Emotions, Ramsey Lewis, The Whispers and The Gap Band.

He was also responsible for the inclusion of a full horn section, at first, the Phenix Horns and later on the Earth, Wind & Fire Horns. During 1994 he halted his regular tours with the band but still occasionally appeared on stage. Onwards White retained executive control of Earth, Wind and Fire and remained active in the music business.
Brookins grew up in Del Paso Heights, Sacramento, California. [3] Singing, and playing keyboard and drums as a child, he formed his first band, aged 11, Little Robert & the Fondeles, [2] which won the Motown's Soul Search Contest in 1974. [2]
In 1985, Kim joined the Phenix Horns, the celebrated horn section of Earth, Wind and Fire. Together they performed with various artists throughout the U.S., Europe, and Asia . Included were two tours in 1987 and 1988 with French icon Michel Berger and vocalist France Gall .
