Kawaki, having deduced that Boruto, being a full-fledged Ōtsutsuki, is likely to turn evil, sends Naruto and Hinata into another dimension, promising to free them after killing Boruto and all the Ōtsutsukis. In the ensuing fight, Boruto confronts Kawaki and loses his right eye protecting Sarada.
Momoshiki Otsutsuki is one of the two antagonists of Boruto: Naruto the Movie and a member of the main family of the Ōtsutsuki clan. A pale, androgynous man, he is a member of the Ōtsutsuki clan who was the reason Kaguya created the White Zetsu Army for, who comes to Earth to plant a new Shinju as the one he used is dying from using up its world's resources.
Meanwhile, Sasuke teaches Sarada the basics of the Chidori before going on a mission with Sai. Team 7 and Kawaki meet up in the afternoon and Boruto buys Ninja Cards for Kawaki and himself. Kawaki gets a card of Minato Namikaze and trades it with Boruto for a Naruto card. Later, Kawaki fixes the broken vase but is still missing a piece.
Using his Claw Marks, Code teleports to the woods near the village and Eida guides him to Kawaki. Naruto informs Shikamaru through Ino of the situation and tells the latter to dispatch the Sensory Team to find Kawaki. Boruto heads off after him, since he can sense his presence somehow. Code subdues Kawaki and asks why he left on his own.
A large Funato fortress approaches Team Kagura's ship. Kagura sends Boruto, Kawaki, and Buntan to check the fortress out up close. Meanwhile, Team Denki goes to the harbor to commandeer a large ship while Sarada and Mitsuki rescue the captive miners and researchers. Boruto, Kawaki, and Buntan make it onto the mobile fortress.
The team is still academy students in Part 1, but has graduated to genin by Part 2. In the Boruto: Naruto Next Generation manga series, the now adult Moegi has been promoted to jonin and is leading Shikadai, Chocho, and Inojin as part of her team. Like Hashirama and Yamato, Moegi possesses the ability to use Wood-Style Jutsu.
Boruto's Karma activates as Jigen forcibly activates Kawaki's Karma and teleports into Konoha intent on bringing back his adopted son. Naruto is briefly swiftly overpowered and pinned down as Kawaki is left to face Jigen alone, in the process of which his Karma develops to the point of sprouting a horn, but he swiftly recovers and saves Kawaki.
