16th Street is a side platformed SacRT light rail station in Downtown Sacramento, California, United States.The station was opened on September 5, 1987, [1] and is operated by the Sacramento Regional Transit District.
A street railway was built on 16th Street by the Los Angeles Traction Company in 1896. An extra rail was installed in 1905, which created a dual-gauge streetcar thoroughfare which was shared with the Los Angeles Railway. [2] The line eventually came under the control of the Pacific Electric Railway, which operated it until the end of 1950. [3]
