Please Don't Touch! is the second studio album by English guitarist and songwriter Steve Hackett. It was released in April 1978 on Charisma Records, and it is his first album released after leaving the progressive rock band Genesis in 1977. Hackett had released Voyage of the Acolyte (1975) during his time in Genesis.
Note: This was not an album, but consisted only of three instrumental tracks, each about a minute in length. They were only made available via a free MP3 download page on Steve's website. The musical themes were subsequently featured in tracks from Metamorpheus.
One of his rejected songs, "Please Don't Touch", was adopted for his second solo album, Please Don't Touch!. Hackett left the band during the mixing stage of the Genesis live album, Seconds Out . His departure was announced in the press during the promotion of the album on 8 October 1977. [ 28 ]
"Please Don't Touch" is the debut single by English rock and roll group Johnny Kidd & the Pirates, released in 1959 and reaching number 25 on the UK Singles Chart. [ 1 ] Personnel
The album was supported by the singles; "Love Me Again", "Secrets" with Regard, "Natalie Don't", "Love of Your life" and "Regardless" with Rudimental. Promotional single "Please Don't Touch" also preceded the project's release. A remix EP titled Euphoric Sad Songs (Dance Edition) was released on 28 December 2020. [9]
