Sint-Pieters-Leeuw (Dutch pronunciation: [sɪnt ˌpitərs ˈleːu]; French: Leeuw-Saint-Pierre, pronounced [lø sɛ̃ pjɛʁ]) is a municipality in the province of Flemish Brabant, in the Flemish region of Belgium. The municipality comprises the towns of Oudenaken, Ruisbroek, Sint-Laureins-Berchem, Sint-Pieters-Leeuw proper and Vlezenbeek.
The commune is part of the area known as Suisse Normande. [4]The commune is made up of the following collection of villages and hamlets, Le Grand Samoi, Le Haut Village, La Bristière, Le Vaugroult, La Remaisière, La Pivotière, La Houssaye, L'Être, La Petite Suisse and Saint-Pierre-du-Regard.
Ruisbroek has a railway station along the line Leuven—Braine-le-Comte. It is only 6 minutes to the Brussels south station. It is home to a large community of French-speakers. Ruisbroek has become popular with young families who wish to stay close to Brussels, but due to the house pricing have opted to move a little further from the city.
