The Foothill Extension (formerly the Gold Line Foothill Extension) is a construction project extending the light rail A Line, a part of the Los Angeles Metro Rail system. The project begins at the former terminus of the former Gold Line at Sierra Madre Villa station in Pasadena and continues east through the "Foothill Cities" of Los Angeles County.
It is currently under construction as part of the Foothill Extension Project and is slated to open around August 2025 or sometime later in the summer. [ 2 ] The station is located near the intersection of Arrow Highway and E Street along the Pasadena Subdivision right-of-way in La Verne, California .
The city of La Verne, in partnership with the San Gabriel Valley Council of Governments, intends to construct a pedestrian overpass connecting the A line station with the Fairplex and its Metrolink station that's only used for the L.A. County Fair. The overpass will cross Arrow Highway and the San Bernardino Line railroad right-of-way. [3]
