History 401 is the capstone course for the subject matter sequence of the Single Subject Credential Program at CSULB. The course draws upon students’ existing knowledge of history and history education to connect context, academic scholarship, and pedagogy. This class reviews the content and historiography of World History and US History.
Students examine the state standards for U.S., and World History and learn how to bridge academic knowledge and content standards in a secondary school setting. The following Historical Thinking Skills will be incorporated: • Historical significance • Change and Continuity • Cause and Consequence • Evidence and Interpretation • Comparison
