The 2024 season will be the 5th season of the Malaysia Premier Futsal League (MPFL) and the 15th season of the Malaysian futsal league overall. The MPFL will be divided into two divisions for the first time this season.
The first Malaysia Futsal Cup featured Negeri Sembilan, Pahang Rangers, PDRM, Pulau Pinang, Selangor MAC, Selangor TOT United, Shah Alam City and Terengganu.The inaugural match of the Malaysia Futsal Cup was held on 11 June 2022 and saw Selangor MAC secure a victory over Shah Alam City with a score of 2–1 at the Panasonic Sport Complex in Shah Alam.

The 2024–25 MFL Cup, a reserve football tournament in Malaysia, is organized by the Malaysian Football League (MFL). The tournament was established following the restructuring of the Malaysia Premier League. A total of 13 teams have been confirmed to participate in the competition.
During a meeting of Sukma's highest committee, which was chaired by then-Ministry of Youth and Sports, Khairy Jamaluddin on 15 May 2015, the committee awarded Perak and Johor the right to host 2018 Sukma Games and 2020 Sukma Games respectively, but the latter was postponed to 2022 and held in Kuala Lumpur instead by the National Sports Council due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
