Santikos Entertainment (formerly Santikos Theatres) is an American movie theater and entertainment center chain based in San Antonio, Texas. Santikos Entertainment is a for-profit company that exists for the sole purpose of giving back to non-profits in the San Antonio area in the form of donations, sponsorships, grants, and programming.
Prior to its acquasition by Santikos, Southern Theatres operated 18 multiplex stadium-seating movie theaters (12 with luxury seating), with 266 combined screens in Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina and Texas, making it at one time the sixteenth-largest theater chain in the U.S. [2]
A 6-screen movie theater operated by Act III Theaters under the Santikos Entertainment brand opened in 1991, [1] and a Beall's in 1995. The theater and Beall's closed in 2001.
