Alexander Keith's is a brewery in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada. It is part of Anheuser-Busch InBev , a holdings company based in Leuven , Belgium, which owns over 400 beer brands globally. The brewery was founded in 1820 by Alexander Keith who had immigrated from Scotland three years previously. [ 1 ]

Oland Brewery, formerly S. Oland & Sons, is a brewing company in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada (established 1907), which also acquired Alexander Keith's Brewery (1928), and is now owned by Labatt Brewing Company (1971), itself a unit of InBev. Sidney Oland (gt. grandson of Sidney C. Oland) served as a senior executive of Labatt Brewing Company.

A longtime Maritime favourite, Oland Export was first introduced in the early 1920s, and is cold-aged. It was originally produced by the Oland Family, from whom the ale is named. The family sold their breweries to Labatt in 1971, and Oland Export is currently produced under the InBev umbrella. It was previously brewed by Halifax's Oland & Son Ltd.
The Oland family (not to be confused with the Saint John, New Brunswick relatives who still own and operate Moosehead Brewery) used Bluenose II as both a private yacht and as a promotion for the beer brand. An illustration of the ship is found on the label as well as the cap. Sidney Oland donated the schooner to the Province of Nova Scotia in 1971.
The brewery is now part of Anheuser-Busch InBev. From 1837, he served in senior management of various companies, including the Bank of Nova Scotia, the Halifax Fire Insurance Company, Colonial Life Assurance Company, the Halifax Gas, Light, and Water Company, the Provincial Permanent Building, and Investment Society.
The brewery was founded in 1867 and is privately owned and operated by the Oland family. [5] All four of the top 100 Beer Advocate Canadian beers brewed in Atlantic Canada are brewed in Halifax, Nova Scotia. Three of these are made by Propeller, and one by Garrison.
